Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is an MMORPG?
MMORPG stands for "massively multiplayer online role-playing game." In an MMORPG, thousands of players exist in the same game world at the same time. This creates an incredibly rich and active environment in which interesting things are constantly taking place. MMORPGs provide thousands of hours of game play, with a nearly infinite variety of goals to achieve across a vast world covering miles of land and sea. The setting of Eternal Land is a MMORPG
Q: How does the skill/magic system work?
Feel free to make up any spell/skill you want to use. In game, characters learn spells and skills through scrolls purchased in stores and dropped by monsters. Be realistic though. A lv10 mage is not going to be able to cast resurrect or something difficult like that.
Q: How does the class system work?
A character may have a primary class and a secondary class. Any combination is allowed. Similiarly, if a character wishes to focus on one field and only choose a primary class, that's fine too.
Q: Can my character have a pet?
Certainly. You may create a pet for yourself in your character profile or purchase/capture another player playing as a pet. If you wish to play as a pet, simply create a profile in the pet market or work out a deal with another player to be captured in the wild.
Q: How many pets can my character have?
If your character's primary class is anything other than the archer chain, then he/she can only have one pet. Archers can have two. However, your character can release his/her current pet and take on a new one.
Q: What happens if I/my pet dies?
If you die, you would lose a level. Within one minute of death, if a resurrect spell is cast on you, you would be revived at where you died. If not, you would be revived in the nearest revival point. (which is usually some distance away from most monsters) If your pet dies, it would lose a level and would remain where it died until someone revive it or if you enter a town or outpost.
Q: Can I fight another player?
Of course! Competitions among players is central to Eternal Land. You may fight anywhere outside of the City of Avalon or in the Arena. You can also fight in City of Avalon if getting pursued by lv50~70 guards is your intention.
Q: How realistic is the game? Does my character have to eat and rest?
Just like daily life, a character is expected to eat and drink to replenish their energy. There are restaurants available for that purpose but a character might choose to simply camp and start a BBQ. Also, you don't actually have to rp the resting or eating. It's assumed.
Q: Can I create my own locations or start my own businesses?
Of course! Just PM the admin and we will start a new board for you!
Q: Does my character have to start at lv1?
Not at all. You may post a character profile with whatever lv you like; it's assumed that the character started at lv1. However, please indicate a reasonable lv. If all players post lv100 characters, then we might have to change the system.
Q: What kind of weapons/equipments can my character have?
You may create your weapons, have multiple weapons, or switch weapons later in the game. Each class/race has inherent bonuses regarding certain types of weapons. Just be reasonable. Just as a elf is unlikely to wield a pole arm, a wizard probably won't wear full plate armor either.
Q: What kind of monsters are there?
Anything you can think of. You can fight any monsters you've encountered in previous games or simply invent your own!
Q: What kind of quests can my character take?
Other than any special site-wide events, your character may accept any quest from any NPC. (You may invent whatever crazy quests you like!)
