"Darn it!" Queen cursed loudly as a half dozen of ice drakes breached the line of tanks. The monsters, though only modestly intelligent, were programed to automatically target any mages or clerics in the party. She swooped down from the sky, and a perfect combo of Ariel Assault followed by a deadly Dragon Roar took out two of the drakes.
But it wasn't enough. In a second, her party's priest was surrounded by the scaled beasts, and despite his valiant efforts to shield himself, he soon disappeared in a flash of white. That was her last priest. Now not only was her party two characters short, she was also missing anyone who could revive fallen comrades. And the Boss Ice Fang was still no where in sight.
Gritting her teeth, Queen butchered the pesky ice drakes with a few more dives and swings of her mighty Ragnarok. But at this rate, her whole party would perish before they get anywhere near the boss. Taking to the sky once more, she scouted around for the possibility of any other players around. A slight snow storm impeded her vision, but she could just make out what looked like a figure... She dove again. Any alliance is welcomed at this point. She's gotten so close to Ice Fang, no way she's backing out now.

Chou let out a small growl, they just had to make it this realistic, didn't they. Why does it have to be so cold? Oh well... Clutching her lance and ducking her head as if to block the fierce wind, the single lancer marched her way through the blizzard. As for where she was attempting to go, not even she knew for she was, well, lost. Oh, but I suppose it's quite alright. Yes, she was in denial.
Sighing in defeat, the lone lancer contemplated sitting down to at least make an attempt at reading the map to figure out her location, but decided she was absolutely fine. If she continued to walk in one direction, she would eventually end up somewhere anyway. Chou almost decided to log-off when her ears perked up at the sound of of weapons clashing. Looking around curiously, she spotted a giant flying creature. Was it a dragon? The shape grew larger as it approached. Holy... If she had to fight that thing...there would certainly be a problem. On the bright side, if she died, Chou would be resurrected at the nearest town. She stepped into a fighting stance and prepared herself.

The wind was fierce, the blowing snow like tiny frozen daggers stabbing at her exposed skin. Which was most of it, as per usual. The heavy black and white cow-print cloak she wore over it, while protecting her from the Frozen status aliment from enemies and environment, did nothing to blunt the frigid cold as she made her way through the snow. And Bethany wouldn't have it any other way.
Behind her, the bodies of two frost gigas' were already de-rezzing, both with noticeable burns on their furs and skin. One of their heads were all but completely caved in. It had been fun, but hardly a challenge. Her buffs held, and her mana was still in mid range. She heard there were some serious monsters up here, even a boss or two, but had yet to find them.
The wind shifted around her, changing directions suddenly. Betahy's head snapped up, and she smiled. That kind of wind change only meant on thing: flying enemies... and from the way the air was being displaced, it looked like a big one.
Bethany threw off the hood of her cloak, and the wind caught her hair and trailed it behind her like the tail of a comet. Likewise, the wind blew the tails of her cloak open, revealing her bare and powerful legs. She fell fell into a fighting stance, brandishing the Fire Gauntlets she wore on both hands. The wind and snow still concealed what was diving for her, so she bent her legs, ready to spring at it the instant she could make it out...

Darn it. Queen cursed, shivering as she laid as flat as she could against Fafnir. The cold itself was tolerable, but the storm was making it so hard to see! What she had thought was a human figure, well, it turned out to be a stinking tree. She pulled to a higher attitude again, circling around once more and diving from time to time when she feels as though she's spotted something. It seemed like a hopeless struggle. The storm impeded her vision, distorted the scents, and messed up her hearing. And all the while, she had no doubt that her teammates were probably getting mauled to death. Queen felt like growling, or slamming her pet dragon into the nearest monster.
Just when she was about to give up hope, she spotted another shadow in a not so far off distance. And, unlike the last few times, the figured seemed to be moving! Her tail swinging excitedly, she dove for the figure....and spotted another one, another moving one! She two figures weren't far apart at all, but she supposed the snow storm must've blinded their senses as it had hers, and those two didn't have her advantage of height. Thinking fast, she chose a middle route. Tugging on Fafnir's reins, she made him turn away from the dive at the last second and land gracefully in the nearby snow.
Queen couldn't see as well now, but those two figures definitely seemed like players. "Hey, you two!" She called out, "care to join The Kingdom in a Ice Fang hunting party?" She had made sure to shout her guild name. With The Kingdom being one of the top guilds, she figured that its name was like testimony to the skill of the party.

Oh...no...is it coming this way...? Chou gritted her teeth and tightened her hold on her spear as the adrenaline pumped through her. She charged forward with speed and dexterity, or as much as she could get in this "inclement" weather. Just as she was about to execute her acrobatic aerial, the lancer saw that the dragon had suddenly veered off to a different direction and had landed nearby, so she immediately halted her assault in a cloud of white.
Chou's eyes widened marginally when she heard a voice. It...it talked? What, could you really blame her? She was only human after all. But upon closer inspection, Chou realized that there was indeed a rider on the majestic beast. Sighing in relief at the discovery that the Dragon Rider was not a foe, she slightly lowered her weapon in respect, but not so much as to leave her completely open.
With her hearing impaired by the howling winds, the lancer could barely make out a word that the rider had spoken. However she did manage to pick out something about another player and something that sounded oddly like the famed Kingdom guild. If she wasn't mistaken, The Kingdom guild, led by a Dragon Rider, had made quite a name for itself. Again, if her deductions were correct, there was a Dragon Rider right in front of her. Putting two and two together, it must mean that this person was the guild leader. Chou was immediately humbled by the other's presence and quickly dropped to one knee and answered loudly, "It would be a great honor to serve you."

With a graceful leap, Queen descended from Fafnir, and an ensuing thrust buried about half of Ragnarok into the snowy land. With her fingers wrapped loosely around the hilt of her gleaming blade, she waited patiently for a reply. A shadow of a smile appeared on her face when she saw one of the shadowy figures approaching her way. So she hadn't been mistaken; it was a player after all. She held her breath, silently praying that the player would be a tank. After all, finding a lone priest in the Heart of Shiverpeaks was in all honesty impossible.
Luckily for Queen, her prayers were answered. Out of the slight blizzard came a figure. She could just make out the armor and lance of the warrior. Perfect. As Chou drew near, Queen smiled warmly at the girl. However, when the Champion dropped to one knee, her sapphire eyes widened in surprise and a hint of crimson dyed her silken cheeks. Such a charmer... Despite being caught off guard, she quickly reoriented herself.
"Thank you, my lady knight." She answered, playing along. "My name is Queen, Guild Master of The Kingdom, and yours, my dear?" All the while, she didn't hesitate to send the Champion a party invite. It was a drawback of Eternal Land's that no player could view another's name and classes without being in that player's party or guild. But she supposed that it heightened the realism of the game. And there, with her standing proudly upright, the golden threads of her hair dancing in the wind, and Fafnir reclined patiently behind her...Queen really did resemble a monarch. And Chou, so nobly knelt, so courageously armored, and so mightily armed, was the pure embodiment of a knight.

Upon Queen's introduction, Chou did not hesitate to answer confidently as she readily accepted the party invitation, "My name is Chou. I am of the Champion class. Specialty: Lances and Spears. At your service." Thankfully, Queen was indeed the Guild Master of the renowned guild, The Kingdom. It would have been highly embarrassing if she wasn't, since the lancer made such a display.
Chou awaited to be addressed, still on one knee with her head bowed; her strict upbringing had been ingrained into her being whether or not she was in or out of game. Although the temperature seemed to dip further into the negatives, the cold was soon forgotten as she was filled with excitement at the thought of fighting alongside the famed Guild Master of The Kingdom.
Queen was indeed correct: Chou's eyes immediately shot to a shadowy figure that flickered in the distance without lifting her head. There seemed to be another player nearby. The more the merrier.

"Your service is dearly appreciated," She replied solemnly. Then, noting that Chou was still on one knee, she added, "And, my noble Champion, please rise, such formalities is completely unnecessary." Nonetheless, the display scored major points with her, and so did that exquisite face... At the same time, a little "ping" sound informed her that the party request had been accepted. Immediately, she called up the party window, visible to only her eyes. To another player, she would have appeared as standing still. Chou, Champion/Brawler, lv65...in other words, a terrific damage dealer and tank.
Queen smiled again. The day is turning out perfectly. Then something else caught her attention; Chou belonged to no guilds in particular. In that case... She kept the tidbit in mind. Should the Champion prove herself worthy in the ensuing battle, she just might offer the girl a seat in The Kingdom. All the while, she waited for the other player to approach.
OOC: So, let's just left off here until Beth gets back?

When the flying creature didn't head straight for her, it was Bethany's first clue that it wasn't an ordinary mob. Her curiosity piqued, she began to approach as the creature landed.
And what a creature! Bethany had heard of gold dragons before, but never seem one up close. It was beautiful! And its rider wasn't so bad herself.
"I've got to get me one of those," she mumbled. She wasn't even sure if she meant the rider of the dragon. Then came the invite to join a hunting party. Bethany smiled wide, but before she could respond, another player beat her to introductions, and went all out doping so. Bethany rolled her eyes and shook her head, ratting the small cow bell around her neck. Some people took the who medieval setting of this game waaaay to seriously.
"Yes, do please rise," Bethany said as soon as she was withing earshot of a simple 'speak' command (as opposed to shot or whisper' "It be a shame if the cold froze the joints of your armor like that." She shot Chou a wink, keeping the mood light before turning to face the taller woman.
"What level is this Ice Fang?" she asked. There was a light in her yes said she was interested, but where or not she joined depended greatly on the answer to that question.

As the other player neared, Queen turned accordingly. Sharp sapphire eyes quickly scanned the newcomer, making note of her ornate (and likely to be enchanted) accessories and gauntlet. Probably a brawler, she thought, before greeting the warrior-type with a charming smile. If she could score two warriors for her party, well, she would be well on her way to Ice Fang's den then.
Before she had a chance to extend an introduction though, the brawler spoke first, and the humor in those words wringing a chuckle out of her. Of course, Bethany's winsome appearance helped.
"Lv78," She replied easily, tossing the number around like it was nothing. "But he is always seen with his mate, another Yeti at lv74." It was clear that she did plenty of research before initiating this hunt. "But, before you think of this quest as a fool's gamble, I'd assure you that The Kingdom came prepared. We brought two of our best mages, both of whom perfectly able to snipe out the two Yeti's from afar. An archer, whose intervention arrows should put those darn Ice Imps at bay. And two white knights serve as perfect tanks." Pride shone through in her words. Her guild was one of the best around, and she has every reason to be proud of it.
But of course, it was only fair to present the other side. "Under ordinary conditions, my hunting party should have gotten to Ice Fang's den with little difficulty. But with the exceptionally frigid weather today, there seem to be an abnormally large spawn rate around this place. Both of my priests just got mauled to death by a half dozen of lv45 Ice Drakes, leaving two slots in my party open. My dear Chou here just accepted one spot. Will you be interested in the other one?"

At being addressed, the Champion's gaze rose as did the temperature in her cheeks, her attention immediately being captured by the player called Queen. Such grace, such elegance: Very befitting of such a grand name. With her golden hair whipping about framing her solemn face, Queen was really the embodiment of…a queen. Her thoughts were interrupted by another voice that was tinged with a dash of mirth (or at least, Chou thought so) when the other character came within her vision. She wondered how the Brawler could stand such weather wearing almost nothing but a cloak. She wondered how both of the people next to her could stand it.
Quickly returning to her feet, spear at the ready, her armor produced a strange cracking sound: Indeed, the joints had begun to freeze over. She quietly brushed off the ice pieces, returning them to the glittering white below as another blush became apparent on the lancer’s face. She threw both of the other players an embarrassed smile and made her way next to Queen.
Chou regained her composure rather gracefully, as her beautiful Party Leader began to describe the situation. Level 78: It was quite doable, but not without some troubles in Chou’s humble opinion. It seems that the Brawler class standing before her was clever in asking what they were up against before joining. However, hearing the pride dripping from her party leader’s voice, the Champion’s worries seem to have been for naught since the party was readily equipped with strong players. Impressive… Chou could not help but become slightly giddy at the thought dealing some heavy damage with other fighters of similar caliber.

Bethany's eyes widened slightly at the mention of the level. 78 she thought. With a 74 mate?. Over 20 levels above her. This would either be the greatest challenge ever, or a sure fire suicide. The queen's part would help, but there was something missing...
"Hmmooo," Bethany said slowly. "I noticed a lack of healers in that party line up. That'll make things harder." A smile crossed her face. "Count me in," she said and sent Queen a Request to join her party. "Name's Bethany. I can help with some buffs and minor healing, but my real strength lies in hitting things until they stop moving."
She looked over to the majestic gold dragon waiting patiently for it rider. "We get to ride the dragon to there right? I always wanted to ride one..." she trailed off, her tail swishing excitedly behind her.

A lv55 Brawler... Quickly accepting the party request, Queen scanned through Bethany's statistics quickly. The level was a bit low, but the brawler's secondary profession - white knight - helped.
"I'm Queen, a lv73 Dragon Knight/Bow Master; a pleasure to work with you." She introduced politely, deliberating the party line up all the while. The lack of priests could be potentially troublesome, but she wasn't too worried. As it were, she has four tanks, three of which perfectly capable of healing themselves. As long as the four could coordinate well with each other and rotate the damage...the hunt should be doable.
"And why not, I'm sure my darling Fafnir wouldn't mind, ney?" Turning a little, Queen spoke lovingly to her pet dragon, caressing its massive, scaled jaw. The dragon glanced at Chou and Bethany with his iridescent golden eyes, before snorting a consent. He wasn't happy about it, but since his mistress asked.
"Well then, hop on my darlings, and get ready for a ride of your lifetime." With that said, she herself took the rider's seat, taking a firm grip on the reins. While Golden Dragons were not designed to be mass transports, they were still large enough to carry several people, just not very comfortably. As it were, Fafnir's broad back still had several open spots, one before her and one behind her. She retrieved Ragnarok and slid the buster sword in its sheath beside her seat, waiting patiently for her new teammates to choose a spot.

At the sound of the party invitation being accepted, Chou took the liberty of viewing the Brawler’s statistics. So, it’s Bethany. Mm…not bad. She would pack a nice punch though. She closed the party window just in time to pick up the phrase, “ride a dragon.”
Riding a dragon…the thought wasn’t first on Chou’s to-do list since the majestic golden beast did look a little disgruntled at the thought of extra riders; but she supposed that she couldn’t refuse a request from someone who so graciously invited her to join an exciting hunt. The Champion obediently nodded, “Many thanks,” and took an agile leap, making absolutely sure to land lightly as to not irk the creature some more. Being extra careful of Queen’s tail, Chou decided on the seat directly behind her for if cover was needed, the lancer would be able to provide it with ease.
Chou looked down to Bethany and her excitedly wagging tail, and politely offered an outstretched hand.

"Oh don't give me that look," Bethany said to the dragon. "I'm not as heavy as all that. Big, strong gold like you, I bet you wont even notice I'm there."
Beth made a move to take the seat behind Queen, but Chou beat her to it. Shrugging , she prepared to take the front seat when the she noticed the outstretched hand. "You really are the chivalrous sort aren't ya? Eternal land could use a few more like you."
Beth took the offered hand for as a boost to get her started, but once up on the dragon wasted no time in nimbly leaping into the offered seat in front of Queen. She spent a moment to wrap her cloak around her as best she could, to include pulling her hood back up.
She looked over her shoulder. "I'm not going to be in your way am I?" she asked. "I'd offer to lean forward on my chest some, but the girls kinda get in the way."
