Naturally, being a highly ranked guild, The Kingdom is frequently challenged. Approximately three hours ago, a challenge had been issued by the Vanguard Elites, currently ranked number seven on the guild ladder. Selective, rigorous, and filled with powerful players; this relatively young guild has been soaring through the charts, raising its rank exponentially. And, carried by wings of optimism, the youthful stallion is now impatient for more – it wants to move into top three. But as it would soon see, the difference between the land-dwelling horse and the sky-soaring dragon would simply be far too much of a gap to bridge.
Nonetheless, it was not within Queen’s nature to take any opponent lightly.
A PM was sent a few minutes after receiving the invitation, one describing the situation and calling the receivers to defend the pride of The Kingdom. Devona and Razah, the light and the shadow, were clear choices that always joined guild battles. She herself as the guild leader was a no brainer.
Smite and Maximilian, the two bishops with the highest level at the current time received another two spots. Rheya, the deadeye bow master, filled another. Bayard, having recently beaten Gareth in a competition, received one of the last two spots. That left one and only spot open.
And, though she knew Devona would probably chide her later and Razah tease her endlessly about it, the last spot went to a relatively new member – Chou. The champion had performed beautifully in the New Years Tournament, and she could tell that the girl has great potential. Chou’s like the diamond in the rough, just waiting to be discovered.
Queen checked the in game time, the match is due to start in another ten minutes. Time to get the party started! Unlike most guild leaders, Queen loved challenges. They thrilled her, tested her, excited her…already, she could feel the faint buzz of exhilaration that always wash over her before battles. She loved it.
Humming a quiet tune, she marched into the practice ground, from which portals leading to the challenge arena would later appear. There was a distinct spring to her step as she looked around for her guild mates. Razah was no where to be found, typical, he always shows up on time…but always shows up at the last minute. Devona was practicing her slashing move, also typical. It doesn’t matter how perfect the move gets, the strict paladin always finds more space for improvements. Bayard was studying her reverently. Poor guy, Devona is like the only one in the guild who didn’t notice his blatant crush on her. The two monks were chatting; Rheya was leaning against a wall idly.
