As always, Golden Coast Tavern was busting with activity. Queen walked in, her weapon safety stored in her portable storage and Fafnir napping away in his pet zone. It was all customary of course, Avalon guards didn't particularly care for players with their weapon brandished. Idly, she paced around the tavern, doing her best to remain inconspicuous.
"Join Pwnage Unite!" A voice suddenly boomed beside her, and she turned to see a red-haired cavalier shouting with unbridled enthusiasm. The obnoxious young man soon quieted down however after the other inhabitants of the tavern glared daggers at him. Aside from that one isolated incidence though, most other guilds seemed to be recruiting in much more dignified manners. A few make-shift stands were set up, and the even newer guilds resorted to simply passing out fliers. She looked around a bit. Most stands featured new (and unknown) guilds, but there were a few emblems she recognized.
Then something caught her attention. There, just a few tables off center, was a nicely dressed Chief Bandit. But what made her brow rise was the stand beside him. The stand itself was painted a regal gold, and gorgeous black letters announced the words "The Kingdom" proudly. Underneath, a majestic black dragon, no doubt painted to resemble the final boss, sprawled across the stand. Last time she checked, she didn't schedule for any Chief Bandit to recruit for her guild.
With a smile on her lips, she walked toward the table. Her appearance looked harmless, but there was a particular glint in her eye...if any of her friends were around, they would no doubt be running for their lives by now. She walked closer, just in time to hear him offer enticingly to another player nearby.
“Miss, you look like a strong player, would you care to join The Kingdom, currently ranked number three on the global ladder?”

Asura sat in a corner of the town's tavern, downing a drink after succeeding in a large scale tournament of player combat. The endless recruitment campaigns humored her to an extent, as they all seemed rather desperate to take in new members. Must be a bunch of newbies.
Mostly ignoring, she was propositioned by a rather straightforward Bandit, which caused her to reply to his shouted words. "Well, i've never heard of you guys, and I don't think you got them there anyway."

To her surprise, the player didn't seem interested at all. That caused Queen to scan the other female curiously. The woman looks to be a mage of some sort, probably a necromancer. Probably pretty high leveled too, judging from that robe. But still, she couldn't deny that her pride wasn't just a little bit hurt. It wasn't often when one treated The Kingdom guild so lightly. But speaking of her guild, it was time to take care of the matter at hand.
"Let me guess," she took a few steps forward, interposing herself between the bandit and the other player. "There would be a small fee involved?" The savvy bandit's eyes widened, caught by surprise, but he quickly recovered. "Just a small one of course, it's customary. Anyway, Miss, would you like to join?" Queen smiled that blood-curdling smile again, her tail swaying tensely behind her.
"Say, do you happen to know The Kingdom's guild leader?" She asked in an off-topic manner, as if the thought struck her randomly.
"Why, of course, the famed Dragon Knight, Queen's the pride of every member of the Kingdom. Her dragon's rumored to be as swift as lightening. And she herself is said to be as beautiful as she is deadly." The bandit replied easier. It was clear that he was still broadcasting for his little scam.
"I mean, do you know what she looks like?" The dragon knight herself continued. Call it a bad habit, but she loves the game of cat and mice.
The Chief Bandit, completely unaware of the trap, continued foolishly. "Indeed, it was my greatest luck to be inducted into the guild by that amazing player. With her golden tresses like rays of sunlight, azure eyes like brilliant gems of sapphire, fair..." He suddenly paused, and his eyes widened.
The dragon knight smiled. "Why, I don't believe I've introduced myself yet. I'm Queen."

She simply watched the two, amused at their back and forth. It was clear from the beginning exactly what was going on to all but the Bandit apparently, though she stood still. Such a dysfunctional clan indeed. And they want me in? She took a seat once again, going back to her drink until they finished talking.
"Well kid, now that you've been throughly embarrassed, what's say you let the two of us adults talk?" She smirked, looking over to Queen. "Why don't you come sit so we can discuss this?"

Discuss this? Queen thought, with a lift of her dainty brows. What was there to discuss after all? It was simply an impostor, trying to make a buck from the sweat of her labor, one that she definitely isn't letting go easily.
"Thank you for your reasonableness, but I don't think you understand," she stated simply to the perceptive dark mage. "The Kingdom has a reputation to maintain. We couldn't possibly let impostors such as him go unpunished."
"And for you," she turned sharply, sapphire eyes spitting fire at the Chief Bandit trying to make his escape. "Hand over all the gold you've made from my guild's name and hand yourself over to the guards...or, be prepared to be hunted by every single member of The Kingdom guild wherever you go." She didn't raise her voice or bristle with anger, but the weight of the threat behind her words was obvious.
The Chief Bandit staggered a step backward, cold sweat pouring down his face. He looked confused, hesitant. To hand over all the money he's made? But, but.. At the same time, dare he challenge the might of The Kingdom?

"I see, you obviously have more important things to the name then." Asura switched to her advanced spell list, and waved her hand, a cage of bone surrounding the Bandit on all sides and closing him in. "Luckily, I found the one loophole for this greenzone, so he isn't going anywhere soon."
She once again motioned for Queen to sit, pouring herself another drink and one for the other woman. "I suppose we can talk now, until I give the signal he will be stuck there."

Queen tensed visibly when she felt the magic condensing in the air, having a half a mind to retrieve Ragnarok from her Inventory. Her instincts were flaring red. Did the Bandit have an accomplice? What happened next surprised her beyond measures. A cage of bone appeared out of nowhere, trapping the impostors right where he stood. And the only one who moved a muscle was the dark mage before her. The dragon knight smiled. That spell...looks like I've underestimated her...she must be an Undead Sovereign then.
"A magnificence display," Queen commented offhandedly, impressed by how quickly the advanced spell had been cast. "And who am I to reject the offer of so powerful and beautiful a lady then?" She smiled charmingly, before taking a seat. "Well, my dear, what exactly did you want to discuss?"

"Why thank you, its just a simple macro though, I can do much better." She watched Queen take a seat, looking her over carefully. Asura then activated her display, looking over the other's bio sheet before turning back. "So Queen, you think i'm beautiful then? Anyway, let's get to talking."
Asura thought of how to best phrase her intentions, getting it. "Why not discuss this clan of yours? It may be worth my while to join if you can convince me."

With a wave of her hand, she gestured the tavern boy to come over. Since she was going to be situated and have a conversation, she might as well drink something. "Green tea, if you don't have any left, red will do as well.," she ordered simply, before turning back to the necro.
"My guild? Very well then." She paused, thinking of a systematic approach to address the issue. After all, The Kingdom has too many virtues, all of which is impossible to be discuss in so short a time period. "As that poser there can tell you, we are highly ranked. Number three on the global ladder as of right now." She started, "We are also highly selective. Only the best of the best may even apply to our guild, and even then, they must first prove themselves worthy on the battlefield and be mindful of the Code of Chivalry." Her message was quite clear - The Kingdom didn't deign itself to beg players to join; players begged to join it.

Seeing the attendent come toward their table, she thought, then decided to take a simple glass of water. Couldn't afford to be impaired in negotiations anyhow. She looked over to Queen once again, prepared to negotiate an alliance, if not simple peace.
"I see, you can afford to be that selective then, not like some of these other guys out here. Truly, my intention is not to join, rather to form an alliance of sorts." She thought of how to exactly define the alliance in terms and conventions, getting it slowly but surely. "That is, unless you want more out of this."

Her tea arrived in a matter of minutes. With a muttered thanks, Queen took a sip of her freshly brewed green tea. Bitter, with a hint of sweetness, just how she likes it. She'll definitely be tipping the waiter later.
A slight smile appeared on her face as the other acknowledged her guild's prowess. The necro was smart, she'll give her that. But how smart? "An alliance?" The dragon knight spoke, lifting a dainty brow. "And may I hear about this alliance in more detail? That is to say, what guild with The Kingdom be allied to?" Was the other player a Guild Master? Queen looked at the female again, but didn't recall anything.

"With me of course, and any particular group I would happen to join. The exceptions being groups you're already fighting of course. It's not binding should I happen to quit though. Now, why don't we talk over some conventions and see what works?" She began drinking the water, which helped cool her off from earlier.
"I suppose first, freedom of trade and such, and aid should I need it."

That made her raise an eyebrow. "With you?" She repeated, a little incredulous. That was the first time she's heard such a scheme. An alliance between a guild and a single player? Sure, The Kingdom has various associates, or in other words, squires in training to become full members, but never an alliance with another player. It was...most interesting.
"Fascinating," she said simply, not making any promises. "And what do you have to offer to my guild in return for our services?" It was an almost ridiculous offer, Queen hardly believed that the Undead Sovereign before her would consider such a scheme. After all, what could a single player offer to an established guild? But Asura looked like she knew what she was talking about...

Asura nodded, having finished her glass of water and putting it on the bus tray. She saw Queen's reaction, expecting and counting on it. "That is, unless you're clan has better offers than this." She had a feeling, that as a combat clan, they didn't get much in the way of alliance offers, even with their ranking. But she shouldn't be quick to judge in any case.
She thought of what she could offer, many things coming to mind. "Well, for one, I have people working with me who can patrol the underground, and help flush out more guys like the one over here." She gestured to the Bandit, then looked back. "Plus, i've been told i'm a good trainer from people i've taught. And just as well." She used another spell, summoning four skeletons inside the bone cage to fight the impostor.

Queen simply kept silent, fingers interlocked and sapphires trained thoughtfully on the Undead Sovereign. She knew the woman would make reasonable prepositions, and indeed the necromancer started offering up interesting clauses until the four skeletons appeared in the cage.
Queen's eyed widened. "What are you doing?!" She raised her voice, awe-struck by the bold (some would say foolish) move. And, almost as soon as she was done speaking, NPC Guards flooded the place.
"Cease the aggression instantly and drop your weapon," the guards said systematically, their stone cold faces betraying zero emotion. "Come with us peacefully and pay a fine for violating the sacred laws of Avalon or face persecution." The row of guards, all level 55 and led by 3 lv 70 captains, lined up in battle formation. Weapon drawn, they blocked off the entrance. Queen looked worriedly at her companion. Whatever is the Undead Sovereign going to do now?
